Max’s on the Lake

This is a dinky little place right on the lake. The menu is short and simple, but what they serve is done well, though there are no vegetarian options. We came for breakfast and coffee, which was fine. It’s worth a visit if you’re coming for the view rather than fancy food or lots of options.

Nice place for a quick bite, they have a really tasty hamburger and fish and chips... excellent staff, 100% recommended.

While staying in Yarrawonga, we tried Max’s On The Lake for lunch. Amazing location,with lovely food, and friendly and welcoming staff/ owners. We returned for another lunch, then breakfast. Each time we were greeted with smiles, and were thanked for choosing to dine there again. On our last day, we were given a box of cakes to thank us for our patronage. Definitely try this cafe while in Yarrawonga.

My partner and I were driving through Yarrawonga on our way to our next destination while camping. We saw on maps there was this place with outdoor seating suitable for us to bring our dog so we went there. If it wasn’t 2+ hours away from home this would be our new go to! Everything was absolutely incredible, the food, the service, the view! We got 2 burgers, 2 starters, 2 drinks, a side and a dessert for under $100 which that alone is amazing value. The burgers were BIG and hands down the best I have ever had. The bruschetta and jalapeño poppers were so much better than I could have imagined. I forgot to take photos of the rest of the food because it was too good I dug in straight away. And the food didn’t take long to come out at all, the drink is almost empty because it was too nice not to skull :’) Boy are we happy that we got to enjoy this place and I hope that many others do too so it can stay open. Thanks for having us and you will see us next time we are even close to Yarrawonga!

Fantastic little hidden gem! This place is awesome! Accomodating, fantastic friendly staff, to die for food (best chips Ive ever had in my life) great value & offers kids meals, waterfront dining and amazing views. 10/10. Highly reccomended and well worth a visit. I take my family there and all my relatives and we will continue to go here everytime we visit Yarrawonga! This place is the highlight of our trips :) keep up the great work guys! Looking forward to coming back again soon!

Great lil family-owned establishment. Beautiful views of the lake. We were served by kind and friendly staff who created a warm, wholesome and inviting atmosphere. Ordered the max muffin and nutella muffin paired with a cup of coffee. Portion and food quality was decent, and the price was very affordable. My only regret was that I didn’t order another food item for takeaway. Looking forward to coming back next time I’m down. Thanks guys!

Sensational - The meals were fresh, well sized and delicious. The service was so friendly, and enjoyed a laugh which made the atmosphere so enjoyable. Location is right near the lake and has a nice breeze. Cannot recommend enough - it's a must.
